The Problem With Passwords

The Problem With Passwords

Passwords are a difficult thing to manage. The following are just a few of the issues:

  1. You are told to have a password for every account that is different - but you don't, you choose one you can remember or if you are really good you have one for low level security, one for medium and one for high.
  2. You are told not to use partners names, pets names, anything that is connected to you, nothing memorable!
  3. You are told to make it complex: no dictionary words, you must put in numbers, capitals and even punctuation if the site will permit it.
  4. You are told to change it regularly.
  5. You are told not to write them down.
  6. You are told never to tell them to anybody.
  7. Basically, you have to remember them all.

Even if you adhere to this good practice, the password can be hacked by an automated program that tries billions of combinations, a method that is referred to as 'brute force'. The best password to have is one that doesn't exist when you don't need it. So even if a brute force attack takes place, there is no password to break.

So the Tutis product range provides a solution to deal with these problems. Every password is different and created by a third party with no knowledge of your partner or pets. The passwords generated are as complex as the website you are trying to access define. You don't need to write it down, there is no point in telling anyone and you don't have to remember it. Easier, better passwords that are only generated on demand.
