Data Centres need to provide secure access to their customers' servers. Whilst this can be done using SSH access, this can mean that customers have access to other servers in the same LAN segment. Also, with increasing attacks on servers, being able to provide two factor authentication at a realistic price is becoming a significant differentiator. TutisConnect also allows for datacentre administrators to communicate with their customers by SMS which is proving to be so much more effective than email. Imagine being able to send an SMS to all customers that a planned upgrade is being scheduled or even providing information on the latest services that the datacentre provides.
USB Key Controlled Access
The process is simple. By activating the token, the user is automatically taken to the correct VPN and connected using an SSL VPN implementing AES256 encryption along with public and private key authentication. This is done invisibly to the user who will automatically recieve an access code on their mobile phone. Once they have correctly entered this one time code, they can optionally be asked to enter their username and password which can be integrated with any LDAP or Radius compliant server.
Totally Flexible
Whilst the system is normally deployed as a two factor authenticated service, customers can choose to just use the token to implement particular applications that they need their users to use. Alternatively, the access code alone may be considered sufficient security for many applications or websites. It is just as easy to use the system to use only username and password pairs, the customer decides.
